Aged Terracotta

Hello and welcome to my blog
here I am again sharing an Earthy layout , my Dusty Attic DT layout for February
Dusty Attic, the home of amazing chipboard and blooms
this LO Features the new DA design
Ivy Corners : DA1018

 'AGED TERRACOTTA'
as many of you know I adore nature and my garden .
these old terracotta pots are all aged and mossy ,
but I really love the energy this gives them and adds to the character.

I added paint to the ivy chippies and to achieve this color I used 3 colors
Dusty in Colour Gingerbread : DA 0922
Dusty in Colour Sunburnt Orange :DA 0906
Dusty in Colour Hot Chocolate : DA0923
and when dry I randomly dabbed some Black Versa color ink on the edges.

If you haven't yet tried the DA paint ,
please consider it as the colors are just fantastic.
and I have such fun mixing them to create perfect shades and hues I desire for my projects.

in my opinion these DA  blooms add the perfect touch to my layout .

DREAMER - Megs Garden

Hello and a warm welcome to my blog
today I am showcasing one of the older paper collections, from Megs garden ,
combining a rustic/grunge theme with fussy cut flowers. .
I rarely use yellow on my work but this paper is so divine I made an exception.
Wild Flowers Field P6273
MEGS GARDEN

'DREAMER'
I chose to use a foundation of “Dark kraft paper “ with stitching and stamping.
I fussy cut the yellow blooms and layered them at the bottom of the photo ,
along with the old world clocks,
secured them with a bling brad ..
this gorgeous photograph is by Tara of
SIMPLY PHOTOGRAPHIC

I diecut some tags with the Top Hat & Automobile collection.
( these are partly hidden on the bottom right hand side of the photo . )

I added some rusty hinge ink and crackle paint to the clocks, to age them even more.

For my final touch I included some white and yellow Azaleas,  love these blooms .

Henley Jetty

Hello everyone a warm welcome to my blog
today I am showcasing my part 2 February DT project for Maja Design

for this beachy design I stitched a circle on the paper
and began my layering with diecut tags .

'HENLEY JETTY'
I shot this photo facing the foreshore watching my hubby and my grand daughter walking along one of the rustic old Jetties here in Adelaide.
A beach side suburb called Henley Beach
The textured swirl to me speaks of the waves, froth and the salt .
The heart represents how much I love this photo and my treasureD hubby and grand daughter .
The stitched circle demonstrates the never ending circle of the oceans movement.
Constantly moving and flowing around and around … quite mesmerising  and beautiful to watch the rolling, frothing, foaming of the waves

The title ‘Henley Jetty “ is created from the Die Cut letters …. I mounted each letter on foam tape and I think the title looks totally rustic and beautiful .

I chose to go mono-chromatic with the blues and white in order to allow the weathered and rustic boards on the Jetty to stand out in the photo .
I love to imagine all the different feet and shoes that have walked these boards and the wind, the rain and ocean salt pounding year after year . Jetties have always fascinated me how they withstand so much weather and time and the never ending pounding and crashing waves of the ocean against the boards .

Maja Design materials – Vintage Winter/ December , Vintage Spring Basics/ 5th March, 6th March, 7th March ……It’s Christmas time/ Die Cut Letters

Thanks so much for popping by and taking a look at all the inspiring ideas from the design team …
until next time.

My beautiful Daisy - 1970 - 1974
Daisy was such an elegant beautiful cat.
She had the loudest purr and such a darling nature .
She would visit the cat across the road and they would both play and frolic between both houses .
She gave me so much love and I loved her so much .
Sadly she was hit by a car at age 4 while she was crossing the road .
Even though we only had 4 years together they were precious years
and I have such wonderful memories of her.
Thanks for all your love Daisy Girl xoxo

 about "Something you love ."

LOVE

as most of you know I adore Nature especially blooms .
so I knew I would create with something from nature .

Dusty Attic chipboard ..
Dusty in Colour Navajo White : DA0903
Dusty in Colour Pesto : DA0918
 Leafy Border :DA0577
I painted the chipboard with a layer of white first, then a layer of pesto .
I chose to use stamping as my background work on this piece
I feel kraft paper really connects with a 'bit of stamping !!'

My Journaling
'There are so many things I love about life.
To me, Nature provides such delight.
Blooms especially are so exquisite and pure magic to me. and the images are woven into my soul.
I adore my garden and surrounding myself with the intricate weaving of nature.\the riot os choas and color is provided by annuals and perennials.
the air is scented with the delicate fragrance to delight my senses .
ahhhhhhhh submerging myself in nature is Food for my Soul ! '
thanks for popping by and I do hope you have time to play and create a LO
on this theme.

As you go through Life - Maja Design ..

Hello and a very warm welcome to my blog
here is my February Project for
today I am showcasing a tag in a pocket in rich and earthy  hues perfect for a wedding..

The pocket is created from Gammaldags Jul – Karamellstrut
and the stacked elements are placed on a foundation of Vintage Autumn Basics -No X bs.

I always like to stitch around the edge of my foundation and then begin placing my Nestabilities diecuts,
beginning with the largest graduating to the smallest size.
I completed this stack with a thin band of paper and added a heart and a bling brad.
Some tiny blooms add the perfect finishing touch.
My tag inside is created with white bazzill .
I adhered a piece of paper on the top section, added a circle and some washi tape and a stamp.
This quote is one of my faves to use in a card or tag .
'As you go through life,
Keep ten friends by your side .
Truth, Courage, Tenderness, Curiosity, Loyalty, Understanding, Laughter, friendship, trust and Love. Always believe in yourself and your dreams '.

I believe these words can be used for either Male or female, child or adult ..
and almost any celebration .
