TESTIMONY
Document an old memory
Growing up, we lived in a country town where there was little or no TV reception.
We watched movies at the " Rivoli Picture Theatre. "
and sometimes they showed silent movies for fun.
I loved Clara Bow and I wanted to document some of her life story .
Clara Bow, a cinema sensation who broke box office records
and became one of the greatest stars
of the silent screen.
Amid scandal and ill health she retired 1933
for good,  at the age of just 28 .

more journaling on the back of my layout .

After making around a dozen talking pictures, including ‘Hoop La’ and ‘The Wild Party’,
Clara’s career ended abruptly in 1933.
There would be no more films.
‘the love had left, she was done, and she walked away’.
The name Clara Bow is largely forgotten but in her day she was one of the biggest stars in the world .
She was the “IT” girl of 1927
Clara’s story of rags to riches to recluse; from her upbringing in a Brooklyn tenement to fame, scandals, mental breakdowns and her married life with actor Rex Bell.
As many have said ‘the camera loved her’ and there are thousands of fabulous studio portraits and intimate family photographs to tell Clara’s story.
With the arrival of talking pictures many of Clara Bow’s films suffered the same neglect as other silent movies, and much information has been lost .
thanks for dropping by and leaving me some love
until next time

how I solved case file 94
beautiful rich and earthy tones .

visit CSI to find out more

'MOMENTS'

I could not find room for my journaling so I have written on the tag , and tucked it under the photo.
I decided to make my title a feature of my page
I began by inking my chipboard alphas in Tim Holtz distress ink ( rusty hinge)
then dabbed some black across the top of the word 'Moment' .
next step is to stitch the entire word onto black card ,
add crackle paint, dry,  and brush more ink where desired .

a cluster of various elements . paper, chipboard and photo stays.

EVIDENCE
Stack something, wood element (heart) black background. letters as a design element. (my title)
TESTIMONY
I wrote my journaling from my cats point of view.
it is written on the tag and hidden under the photo.

Hello, my name is Ollie and I am a Burmese boy .. born in 1994
That makes me 18 !! ( 126 in cat years ) I will be 19 on the 7th November .
I love my mum and we have lots of cuddles and fun moments together.
I can often be found on “mum’s” desk while she is creating.
I love the garden and find some special spots to
relax and be with nature.
I had the whole place to myself and now mum has
brought two more boys into the family, Raven and Hardy .
They are “ok”  but I am too old to be bothered with them.
As long as they leave me alone I am happy
But really if I am honest they do entertain me
and we are one big happy family .
I love being part of the Jacob Family xo
A note from me ---- my Cats leave foot prints on my heart .
love you Ollie x

thanks for looking at my work
it means the world to me
until next time

2Crafty and Scrap Around the World are getting together
for the month of October with lots of yummo chipboard pieces to win.
here is the mood board and sketch which we are required to use as a prompt .
for more info
I flipped the sketch and created my masked background on the left side
with my cluster plus photo on the right side.

'DREAMS'
The images of the flowers , lacy vase and the shoes suggested a romantic  mood to me .
I decided to go out of my comfort zone and create with yellow, being a color I rarely use and because this is a challenge I thought why not.!!
Paris is the city of love, romance  and art which led me to dreaming of Paris in the Spring.
Beautiful  blooms, art, romance and  the magnificent Eiffel Tower.
2Crafty have just the perfect chipboard items for this theme.

I layered the chipboard/fencing-wire-panel
with the trimmed  chipboard/frames-tiny-henris
both inked with split pea /Versa color ink .
more layered pieces
chipboard/delicate-swirls
 chipboard/frames-tiny-henris
chipboard/words layered over an altered Tim Holtz Metal name plate .

NEXT - from Romance to Steampunk !!!
I discovered this stunning vintage post card and wanted to scrap it in a Vintage/Grunge /Steampunk style
the new giant gears chippies are just perfect .

'MOMENTS IN TIME'

the giant gears are altered by applying some distress ink/Rusty hinge, allow to dry and randomly dab some Celaton / black Versa color ink, to achieve the rusty look .
the same technique is applied to the shrubs .
I completed the look by adding some Tim Holtz crackle paint

My next layout is showcasing my faithful paint brushes
continuing with my Vintage/grunge theme .
'b for Brushes '

the alpha is inked in black and machine stitched.

the chevron pieces are also inked in black
the name plate is trimmed , inked and poked under the mounted photo
the heart is covered in kraft paper, stamped and finished with crackle paint .
I secured the chipboard with a vintage brad.
lots of paper layers, brads and tags.
2Crafty chipboard pieces used.
chevron bits
chicken-wire-panel
sybills-name-plates
heart-banners
alpha-font

my final layout
I am sharing this LO because it is my all time favourite for 2Crafty.
I created this mixed media /Vintage themed page a few months ago showcasing some
stunning chippies and crackle paint
'BLING'

2Crafty chipboard

handy tip :
firstly all chipboard is trimmed , next apply white gesso , then ink in Versa color/ Mountain Lake
By trimming my chippies, I can layer them and make them individual and unique .

Dreamy soft Pastels for Case file #92

Case file #92 ready to solve .

'REMEMBER'
I just adore these pastel shades and I used the perfect papers -
the stunning Maja design collections Vintage Spring Basics .

EVIDENCE
rhinestones, hearts, something that dangles, handmade flowers, distressing. stacked elements.
TESTIMONY
An extract from my journal :
Spring is my favourite time of year.
Soft and gentle with luminious light .
Spring brings wattle blossom, sparkle and secret new growth.
September comes in colors of  white, pinks and blues mixed with yellow and raw umber.
Spring reminds me that I live where miracles are common place.
I love working out in the garden on a beautiful Spring day.
soaking up the sounds of nature and watching my garden gilded by the afternoon sun.
Quietly taking on a radiance of its own.
The word for the season has the same Germanic origin as Spring. ... meaning to Jump !

I could not place all my journaling on my page so I added some on the back
of my layout for future generations to read.

lots of layering and stacked elements .

thanks for popping by and

'Favourite'
I began with white cardstock, added some stamps with black ink , a few lime splashes and stitching .

lots of layering with tags and dies.
 more layering

I always love the statement a black and white layout makes,
and by adding a splash of color
draws even more attention to the dramatic feel of B and W .
